Board game night just got a live casino makeover. Evolution has rolled out MONOPOLY Roll ’em, a new live dice game that takes one of the most recognizable brands on the planet and boils it down to something refreshingly simple: watch two dice land, and guess where the top hat ends up next.
It’s the latest release under Evolution’s ongoing partnership with Hasbro, and it leans hard into what made the board game a household name in the first place, familiar imagery, quick decisions, and just enough tension to keep you watching the board.
How a Round Actually Plays Out
Strip away the theming and Roll ’em is a dice game at heart, built around a 12-square board that the MONOPOLY top hat travels across round by round.
Before the dice are shaken, players choose where to place their bets: Low (2 through 6), Seven, High (8 through 12), or a specific number if they want more precision, and more risk. Once betting closes, things get interesting. MONOPOLY houses start appearing on random squares, each one adding a multiplier to that spot. Land more than one house on the same square, and those multipliers stack, quietly raising the stakes before a single die has even been thrown.
Then comes the roll. Two dice shakers go at once, the numbers get tallied, and the top hat moves to whichever square matches the total. Simple to follow, but the house-building phase gives every round its own little arc of anticipation.
Why Evolution Built It This Way
Todd Haushalter, Evolution’s Chief Product Officer, framed the design choice as a deliberate bet on accessibility over complexity. In his words, the game “takes the instantly recognisable MONOPOLY brand and applies it to a straightforward, fast-moving dice format,” resulting in something “easy to understand from the first round, but still creates anticipation as houses appear on the board and multipliers begin to build.”
That balance, easy in, exciting throughout, seems to be the whole point. Haushalter also pointed to the range of betting options as central to the game’s appeal: newcomers can stick to Low, Seven, and High for a low-friction experience, while players chasing bigger swings can target individual numbers instead. Combined with the visual clarity of the board and the top hat’s movement, he said, it gives the game “a strong rhythm” and “an engaging live entertainment experience.”
Multipliers Up to 300x
The headline number here is 300x, the ceiling on what those stacking house multipliers can produce when a round breaks in your favor. It won’t hit every round, but it’s the payoff that gives the house-building phase its weight, turning what could be a flat, repetitive dice game into something with real peaks and valleys.
A Brand Built for This
It’s hard to overstate how much brand recognition MONOPOLY brings to the table. Hasbro’s flagship property has been a fixture in households for nine decades, and Evolution isn’t shy about leaning on that history rather than reinventing it. The top hat, the houses, the unmistakable board aesthetic, they’re all here, repurposed for a format built for quick, repeatable rounds rather than a two-hour family game night.
For Hasbro, it’s another example of the franchise-first strategy the company has leaned into across its portfolio, alongside properties like MAGIC: THE GATHERING, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and TRANSFORMERS. Rather than treating MONOPOLY as a static board game license, Roll ’em is one more way the IP shows up in a format built for a completely different kind of audience.
Where It Fits
MONOPOLY Roll ’em joins a growing lineup of Evolution’s Hasbro-branded live games, and it’s positioned squarely for players who want something fast and low-commitment rather than a long-form table game. If the early framing from Evolution’s team is any indication, the goal wasn’t to reinvent the dice game, it was to make one that’s instantly familiar to anyone who’s ever owned a MONOPOLY board, and quick enough to fit into a few minutes of downtime.
MONOPOLY Roll ’em launched globally on July 15, 2026, as part of Evolution’s exclusive live casino partnership with Hasbro. The MONOPOLY name, logo, and board design are trademarks of Hasbro, Inc.
